     Bartholomew Somers was born on Mar 17, 1771 in Glasgow, Scotland.1,2,3,4 He was the son of Claude Somers and Agnes Somers.1

     Bartholomew was also known as "Red Bart", from the color of his hair. This nickname helped to distinguish him from others in the Somers family named Bartholomew.1 He was found in some records as Bartholomew II Somers.5

     Bartholomew Somers emigrated to America circa 1787.1

     Bartholomew married Jean Morrison.1

     Bartholomew appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Barnet, Caledonia County, Vermont, enumerated Aug 24, 1850, with his children Margaret and David. Also in the house was Kurt Johns.2

     Bartholomew died on Jun 11, 1859 at the age of 88 years, 2 months and 25 days.1,3,6 He was buried in Barnet Center Cemetery, Barnet.3,4
