NOTE
The Barnet, Caledonia County, Vermont online web site shows two Claud Somers buried in Stevens Cemetery. The first shows "Claud Somers" buried in lot 65, born 1740, died 6/1/1818. The second shows "Mr. Claud Somers" buried in lot 104, born 1766, died 12/31/1828.
I have concluded that the details for these two Claud's are reversed in the online site, either due to an error on the part of the online site transcriber, or to an error in the town's vital records index itself. The monumental inscriptions for "Mr. Claud Somers" and his wife "Mrs. Agnes Somers" are on the same tombstone (I have a photograph of that tombstone, courtesy of Stan Somers), yet the online site shows Agnes buried in lot 65, and her husband Claud buried in lot 104; though I have no insight into how cemetery lot numbers are assigned, it seems reasonable to assume that in this situation, their lot numbers would be the same or consecutive. Additionally, the History of Barnet book, page 608, shows Claud Somers ("Mr. Claud Somers") died June 1, 1818, which disagrees with the date shown for him online.
