     Christoph Schetter was born circa 1840 in Germany.1,2,3,4,5 He was the son of Heinrich Friederich Ludwig Schetter and Tibetha Gertrude Holtzermann.

     He emigrated with his parents from Oldenburg, Germany to America in 1854 on the ship Germania.1

     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Piqua, Miami County, Ohio in the household of his parents.2

     Christoph married Louise Holtzermann, daughter of Jacob Daniel Holtzermann and Johanna L. Dettmer, on Sep 20, 1865 in Miami County, Ohio.6,1,7

     Christoph and Louise appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, enumerated Feb 14, 1870, with their children Jacob and Minnie. Also in the house were housekeeper Annie Vacke, and residents Thomas Flaherty and James Loughlin.4

     Christoph and Louise appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana, enumerated Jun, 1880, with their children Jacob, Minnie, Louis, Hellen and Fredric. Also in the house was servant Mary Morris.3

     He appeared, as a widower, on the 1910 Federal Census of Indianapolis, Marion County, Indiana in the household of his daughter and son-in-law, Minnie and Enos W. Hoover.5
