     Rebecca J. Flagg was born circa 1807 in the United States.3

     Rebecca married George Washington Brooks, son of Samuel Brooks and Anne Bedel.1,2

     Rebecca and George appeared on the 1851 Canadian Census of Ascot township, Sherbrooke, Canada East (Québec). Listed with them were their children Alphonzo, Sarah, Charles, Mary, Lucinda, Elizabeth, Adaline, George, Emma, James, William, John, Henry and Libby. One more person, Charles Brooks, school teacher, age 23, is listed as an absent member residing in Shipton.3

     Rebecca died before Nov 23, 1863.4 She was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Sherbrooke.2
