     Edwin Jackson Brooks, twin of Edward, was born on Dec 9, 1848 in Québec.1,3,4,5 He was the son of Charles Brooks and Sally Abbott.2,1 He was baptized on Jan 22, 1849 at the Congregational Church in Sherbrooke. Witnesses were Charles Towle and J. P. Cushing.1

     He appeared on the 1851 Canadian Census of Ascot township, Sherbrooke, Canada East (Québec) in the household of his parents.3

     Edwin married Helena Ermina Oughtred, daughter of Robinson Oughtred and Dorothy Malvina Stevens, on Mar 14, 1876 at the Wesleyan Methodist Church in Lennoxville.6

     Edwin and Helena appeared with their children Charles, Harry and Allen on the 1881 Canadian Census of Lennoxville, Sherbrooke, Québec in the household of Edwin's parents.4

     Edwin and Helena appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Indian Head, Assiniboia East, The Territories, enumerated Apr 26, 1901, with their children Harry A., Allan O., Edwin S, Murray G., H. Elizabeth, Ernest E., W. Arthur, Mary D. and Sarah E., Edwin's cousin Louisa Stevens, and domestics Arthur Burrill and John Burrill.5
