Descendants of Samuel Brooks
     Charles Brooks was born circa 1818 in the United States.3,4,5 He was the son of Samuel Brooks and Elizabeth Towle.1,2

     He was a merchant in Sherbrooke and Chicago and vice president of the Eastern Township Bank in Sherbrooke.1

     Charles married Sally Abbott on Oct 2, 1843 at the Congregational Church in Sherbrooke.6

     Charles and Sally appeared on the 1851 Canadian Census of Ascot township, Sherbrooke, Canada East (Québec). Listed with them were their children Sarah, Charles, Edward and Edwin.3

     Charles and Sally appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census of Lennoxville, Sherbrooke, Québec with their daughter Maria, their son and daughter-in-law, Edwin and Helena, and grandchildren Charles, Harry and Allen.4

     Charles died on Feb 27, 1896.5 He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Sherbrooke.5
