     Richard Dalby Morkill was born on May 27, 1854 in Québec.1,2,3,4,5,6 He was the son of Richard Dalby Morkill and Luvia Doolittle Osgood. Richard was baptized on Nov 12, 1854 at the Episcopal Church in Sherbrooke; witnesses were William Osgood and John N. Jerkins.1

     At the age of 23, Richard married Georgie Isabella Brooks, daughter of George Brooks and Christiana Seaman Thompson, on Oct 24, 1877 at the Anglican Church in Sherbrooke.7,2

     Richard and Georgie appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census of Sherbrooke, North Ward, Sherbrooke, Québec with their son Dalby. Also in the house were Willard A. Smith and Louisa Smith.3

     Richard and Georgie appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Rossland Riding, Kootenay, Yale & Cariboo, British Columbia, enumerated Apr 23, 1901, with their children Dalby and Alan.4

     Richard died on Jul 21, 1934 in Vancouver, British Columbia at the age of 80 years, 1 month and 24 days.5,6 He was buried in St. Peter's Cemetery, Sherbrooke.6
