     John Thomas Morkill was born on Jun 10, 1856 in Sherbrooke, Québec.1,2,3,4,5,6 He was the son of Richard Dalby Morkill and Luvia Doolittle Osgood. John was baptized on Dec 21, 1856 at the Episcopal Church in Sherbrooke; witnesses were John Morkill and P. Pennoyer.2

     He appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census of Sherbrooke, Centre Ward, Sherbrooke, Québec in the household of his father.4

     John married Maud Murilla Johnson, daughter of Edwin Ruthven Johnson and Harriet D. (?), on Dec 27, 1907.1,3

     John and Maud appeared on the 1911 Canadian Census of 13 Dominion Avenue, Sherbrooke, North Ward, Sherbrooke, Québec, with their son John.5

     John died on Apr 14, 1937 at the age of 80 years, 10 months and 4 days.6 He was buried in Elmwood Cemetery, Sherbrooke.6
