     George Henry Morkill was born on Apr 6, 1860 in Sherbrooke, Québec.1,2,3,4,5,6,7 He was the son of Richard Dalby Morkill and Luvia Doolittle Osgood. George was baptized on Sep 2, 1860 at the Episcopal Church in Sherbrooke; witnesses were James Falshaw and L. D. Osgood.1

     He appeared on the 1881 Canadian Census of Sherbrooke, Centre Ward, Sherbrooke, Québec in the household of his father.5

     George married Isabella Hume Robins, daughter of J. C. Robins and Margaret Steele, on Aug 18, 1888 in Sherbrooke. The marriage was performed by A. Campbell Scarth, in the presence of Isabella's father J. C. Robins, George's brother and sister-in-law R. D. and Georgie Morkill, and J. I. Morkill.8,2

     George and Isabella appeared on the 1901 Canadian Census of Slocan Riding, Kootenay, Yale & Cariboo, British Columbia, enumerated Apr 5, 1901, with their daughter Joyce.6

     George and Isabella appeared on the 1911 Canadian Census of Valley Road, Vernon, Okanagan, Yale-Cariboo, British Columbia, enumerated Jun 24, 1911, with their daughter Joyce.7

     George enlisted in the Canadian Over-Seas Expeditionary Force on Jan 25, 1916 in Vernon, British Columbia.3

     George died on Mar 26, 1939 in Vernon at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 20 days.4
