Hovey, Butler and Associated Surnames

Welcome to my Hovey Family site, which contains records of Julia Ette Hovey and her associated surname ancestors.

When I began genealogical research in 1990 I began with the Hovey line. I had collected data since 1963, when I was eighteen, but had not attempted to put it together until I obtained my first computer in 1990. On a trip to Salt Lake City's Family History Center, which at that time was housed in one building, I found the Hovey Book, written by Horace Hovey. Although it should never have been successful, I was able to trace my line from Daniel Hovey, born in 1615, down to Asa Hovey, the father of Julia Ette Hovey who was my great grandmother. (The appropriate method is to begin with yourself and work back in time).
