Alexander M. McCorkle of Cabell Co., VA/WV
While searching for the descendants of my McCorkle line in Cabell Co.,
WV, I discovered information about Alexander M. McCorkle and his
descendants. Alexander M. is the great grandson of Alexander and Mary Steele
McCorkle of Lexington, VA. Although this line is very likely related to my line
of Samuel McCorkle of Augusta Co., VA, I have never seen any proof of the
relationship. Oren Morton states that Alexander M. "went west" and
Rev. Louis McCorkle briefly mentions Alexander M. I have included the
data I found on Alexander M. McCorkle and some of his descendants because I
have not seen this information included in published genealogies of the
Alfred Leyburn McCorkle of Rockbridge Co., VA & Carroll Co., MO
A
very kind contributor has recently sent me copies of the birth/death/marriage
pages of the Alfred Leyburn McCorkle Bible. Alfred (1832-1893) was born in
Rockbridge Co., VA and died in Carroll Co., MO. He was the son of Thomas & Susan
Alexander McCorkle and the great great grandson of Alexander & Mary Steele
McCorkle. I have added the Bible data to the Alexander of Lexington Data Base.
