HOME SURNAME LIST NAME INDEX EMAIL US | Descendants of Ann Wilson FarrisThere are some mysteries here. Although all descendants of Ann (?) Wilson have the last name "Wilson", there is some doubt whether this is correct. Marshall County records show the marriage of Ann Wilson to John Farris in 1842. 1850 census for Marshall Co. shows head of household Ann Farris with a number of children, many born before 1842, a few (including my ancestor, James Houston Wilson) born after. The 1860 census shows many of the same children, but with the head of household as Ann Wilson. An Ann Wilson is buried in Lipscomb Cemetery near Lacey's Spring, Morgan Co. AL, along with Robert, one of the children listed in the 1850 census. No one in the family has heard of the name Farris. One of the daughters of Joseph Walter Wilson says that she was told by her grandmother, Martha Ann Morrow (Barnard) Wilson, that the father of James Houston Wilson was a Tom Wilson, born in Scotland. It was also said that James' mother was a Native American named Charlotta. If anyone can shed some light on this, it would be greatly appreciated. Table of Contents
