1. JOHN SVEN1 HOLMGREN (JOHNA) was born 09 September 1843 in Sweden, and died 23 July 1928 in Denver, Colorado. He married CAROLINE CARLSON 08 April 1885 in Rockford, Winnebago Co, IL1. She was born 11 October 1854 in Goteborg, Sweden, and died 24 January 1933 in Denver, Colorado.
Notes for JOHN SVEN HOLMGREN:
Came from Sweden in his early 20's to Pennsylvania. His name was John Johnson and in the settlement where he lived there were so many Johnson's he changed his name to John Holmgren, not legalized so no records.
He met Caroline after he moved to the States and they married and moved to Denver.
He was a woodchopper and freight handler for the railroad. Lived near Evergreen, Colo where daughter Elenora was born; moved to Denver by 1890.
Notes for CAROLINE CARLSON:
She left Sweden and arrived in Rockford, Illinois around 1884 to stay with friends for about 6 months.
