Windsor Police - Monday
John Carter, a young man, was brought before the sitting Magistrates charged with passing counterfeit coin. It was proved that he had attempted to pass bad money at three different
shops, viz, those of
Mrs. Stroud, butcher, Thames-street,
Mrs. Sutton, beer shopkeeper, Clewer land, and
Mrs. Goodchild, wife of
Mr. Goodchild, baker of Peascod-street. When
taken into custody there were found upon him other bad shillings and sixpencees.
He was remanded.
