Some Selected Reports from The Windsor and Eton Express
25th February 1837
On Monday the Annual Rabbit Hunt took place in the grounds of M.R.H the
Princess Augusta, at Frogmore. The day was remarkably fine, but the sport exceedingly short. After the day's amusement had terminated, a party of gentlemen adjourned to the Hope Inn, where
an excellent dinner was provided by the landlord (
Mr.Byles) and the conviviality of the evening was kept up till a late hour.
On Monday morning, as two men in the employ of
Mr.Tebbott, builder, were engaged in removing a deal plank from a pile in his timber yard in Sheet-street, the stack gave way, and one of the planks
fell across
Inman, one of the men, but fortunately did not do him any further injury than bruising his head.
