Know all Men by these Presants that me William Bartholomew of Hanney in the County of Berks yeoman Richard Clarke of St Helens in Abingdon in the same County yeoman and John Owen of Drayton in the same County Cordwainer. Are held and firmly bound unto the worshipful Charles Allia [?] Master of Arts Official of the Revd and Worshipful the Dean of the Cathedral Church of Sarum in Two hundred pounds of good and lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid unto the said Charles Allia or to his certain Attorney his Executors Administrators or Asignes To which Payment well and truly to be made We oblige ourselves and each and every of us by himself for the whole our and each and every of our heirs Executors and Administrators firmly by these Presants Stated with our Seals Dated the eighth Day of July in the nineteenth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of Great Britain,France and Ireland king Defender of the faith and so forth And in the Year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and seventy nine
The Condition of this Obligation is such , That if Mary Wife of the above Bounden William Bartholomew natural and lawful Daughter next of kin and Administrator of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of John Spanswick late of New Town in the Parish of Hungerford in the County of Berks and peculiar jurisiction of the Dean of Sarum aforesaid Intestate deceased do make or cause to be made a true and perefect Inventory of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased which have or shall come into the hands Possesion or knowledge of her the said Mary or into the hands and Possesion of any Person or Persons for her and the same to be made do Exhibit or cause to be Exhibited into the Registry of the said Dean of Sarum (if called) at or before the last day of October now next ensuing and the same Goods Chattels and Credits and all other the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said Deceased at the time of his death which at any time after shall come into the hands or possesion of the said Mary or onto the hands and possession of any other person or perons for her do well and truly administer according to Law and further make or cause to be made a true and just account of her said Administator at or before the last day of July 1780 (if req) ………
