Some Selected Reports from The Pall Mall Gazette
Saturday, September 16th, 1867
Last evening Dr. Lankester held and inquest relative to the death of
Charles Henry Spanswick, thirty-five years of age, an actor at Sadler's Wells Theatre, who died under circumstances which led to a belief that he had taken poison. The medical evidence proved the death arose from natural causes, and the jury returned a verdict to that effect.
