Bethel / Rowe Family Burial Ground
Just north of Bethal Cross Rd and Carpenter Hill Rd in the hamlet of Bethel.  A half mile away on Bethel Cross Rd is the Moravian Monument, recognizing Gotlob Buttnor's and Henry Rausch's missionary work with the Shekomeko Indians ca. 1742.   The graveyards do not appear to have modern stones.

The Bethel Hamlet was settled ca. 1740 by Lutherans ho built the locally known "Old Round Top" church.  The Rowe Famly Burial ground was part of the church's cemetery, no divided by Carpenter Hill Rd.   The first picture is of Carpenter Rd, looking north.  The cemetery is visible on the right (east) side.  The open area on the left just past the telephone pole is the other side of the cemetery.   The second picture is of the Gray family plot from the late 1800's.

Earliest graves:  Row(e)'s  1784 and Hoffman's 1789

Quaker Ground
On CR 83 2 miles Southeast of Pine Plains is the Quaker Ground at the intersection with the northern end of Carpenter Rd.  It is 1/2 mile north of the above Rowe / Bethel cemetery.   This cemetery has no modern stones and is about 30 yards long and 20 yard deep.   The oldest date is 1820.
