This still active cemetery is on the east side of the South Amenia Road (CR2), 1/2 way between Amenia Union and South Amenia. It is just north of Clark Hill Rd. The first picture is taken toward CR2 (running left-right thru picture, in front of house). The second is of the South Amenia Church, Presbyterian of Union Society est 1759, which is the closest church. I imagine that the graveyard is operated by the church.
From Poucher Book,
"INSCRIPTIONS: 427 in number. Copied by L. Van Alstyne of Sharon, Conn.
See page 128 of "Burying Grounds of Sharon. Coon., Amenia and North East,
New York", printed 1903.
REMARKS: Known as South Amenia Cemetery. When the Round Top Meeting
House at Amenia Union was torn down in 1786 a new church was built at this
point. The second building was followed by a third, called the "New Church
of South Amenia". Some stones in this yard bear dates prior to 1786, which
probably indicates removal from other places.
