The U. S. Federal Census started with the year 1790 and taken every 10 years thereafter. Census Data is transcribed for the years 1790-1850 for the State of New York, and up to 1840 for all other
states where a listing could be found. All variations of the Van Buren name are listed, including misspelled and sound alikes. At this time, only the 1790, 1800 and 1810 New York census schedules are
completed, with the information from the microfilm.
An index is provided for the remaining census schedules mentioned above, until such time that it can be made available at this site. The microfilm roll number is listed along with the page number to
help those wanting to secure this data. This information is provided only as an assistance. Please keep in mind, errors may occur in the page or roll numbering system, as it has not yet been
transcribed from the original census data.
