In the name of God A men I Johnathan Atherly of the State of Tennessee and County of Davidson being in a low State of health but of a Sound mind and memory do make Constitute & appoint this & no other my Last Will & Testament utterly Revoking all former Wills Testaments heretofore by me made first of all I Recommend my Soul to Almighty God that gave it and my body to (be) intered in a Christian like manner and with Regard to what little property the Lord has been pleased to bless me with Now Remaining undivided I give & Dispose of in the following manner (To wit) to my beloved daughter Eliza-beth Atherly I give my Sorrel mare my bridle and forty dollars & to her daughter Holland I Give Ten Dollars & my Colt ~~~~ to my beloved Son John Atherly. I give my bay mare and Saddle ~~~~ to my Daughter Susannah Gullifer a Small purse of Gold Containing Six Guineas ~~~~. I Give my Daughter Sally Atherly the forty dollars that Son Isaac Owes me. The balance of my money After paying all Accounts Against me I give to be divided Equally between my four Sons Warren John James and Johnathan Atherly. I further will that all & Several my property Goods etc. that by a former will I made & agreeable thereto I Divided & Gave to my Children here to fore that they Retain the property Agreeably to the dementions of sd will which will was made the 27th day of Augt in the year of our Lord 1801. In testimony whereof I now in the presence of God & three Subscribing Evidence Do Subscribe my name & Afix my seal this twenty first day of November one thousand Eight hundred & Seven.

Will is proven in 1807; Wills and inventories of Davidson Co. Tn book 3, pg. 198-199. Children listed in will.
 
Johnathan bought property in 1769 in Craven Co., NC and sold same property in 1796 before moving to Tennessee.

Jonathan Atherly and Elizabeth, his wife, and Jesse Atherly, all of Craven county, in providence of North Carolina, of one part, sell 100 acres of land to Joseph Jackson of Pitt County, on Sept. 5, 1796 recorded in December term of court, 1796.
