Emmett John Iehl was born at Walker Nov. 15, 1907, and died at a Cedar Rapids hospital May 14 after a long illness.

He attended school at Walker and graduated from the Alburnette schools. He also attended business college.

He was united in marriage to Lorraine Dunn Dec. 2, 1932 at Central City. To this union two sons and one daughter were born.

Mr. Iehl farmed and operated a dairy business for several years. He was a former member of the Central City board of Education and a director of the Farmers Co­Operative Exchange for 12 years, including terms as president of the two organizations. He also served as a director of the Linn Co­Op Oil Co., at Marion as secretary and at the time of his death, was a director of the City State Bank, Central city.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant daughter in 1936 and a son, Kenneth in July, 1964. He is survived by his widow, one son, David of Central city; two brothers, Lyle of Newell and Orlin of Springville; a sister, Mrs. Charles Cook of San Diego, Calif.

Memorial services were conducted Sunday at the Federated church with the Rev. William Dreyer officiating. Interment was in Mt. Clark cemetery. Pall bearers were Jerry Akers, Vernon Akers, Charles McGuire, Melvin Hickey, Gene Finnell, Tracy Wright, Don Yanda and John Erbes. Arraingements were made by the Passmore Funeral Home in Central City.
