"Abner was born in Sutton, MA, and always resided in that town. He occupied the house erected by his father-in-law in 1780. He enlisted in the Revolutionary War and was in the company in Colonel Ebenezer Learned's [militia] that marched from Sutton on the alarm to Concord, April 19, 1775; he also took part in the movements on Dorchester Heights, March 4, 1776, which resulted in the hasty evacuation of Boston by the British."
