Annie Cantrell Hayes Died on July 6
Annie Cantrell Hayes, daughter of Mart (Mark) and Artimichel Cantrell,was born at Bone Gap, Ill., on December 10, 1872. When she was 12 yearsof age she came to Missouri, making her home near Purvis, Mo. For manyyears she lived in and near Versailles where she has many relatives andfriends.
For the past year she had been in failing health, and she was atthe home of her son, Clarence Hayes, near Eldon, when she passed away onJuly 6, She was past 76 years of age.
In 1892 she was married to George Monroe Hayes and to them ninechildren were born. A son, Curtis, and a daughter, Ethel, died in infancy.She was preceded in death by her husband, October 6, 1943.
In 1945 she was united in marriage with George B. Hayes, who survives.
Besides her husband she is survived by seven children: ClarenceHayes, Eldon, Mrs. Ben June, Versailles, Clyde M. Hayes, Gravois Mills,Mrs. Bill Tryon, Syracuse, Aaron L. Hayes, Mrs. Oliver Sidebottom and Mrs.Joe Chapman, all of Barnett; two brothers, E.L. Cantrell, Versailles, andClint Cantrell of Oklahoma, and a sister Mrs. Ida Nations, also of Oklahoma.She is also survived by 30 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
For many years she had been a faithful member of the Assembly ofGod church.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon atthe Versailles Assembly of God church, with the pastor, Rev. Nelson Sachs,officiating. Interment was in the Versailles cemetery, with Kays FuneralService in charge.

Elvin L. Cantrell
Elvin L. Cantrell, 98, Versailles died at his home Thursday evening,March 1, He was born at Bone Gap, Ill on April 16, 1880, son of the lateMark & Mary A. Cantwell. He was married to Oliza Jane Smith, who preceededhim in death in 1956, In 1957 he was married to Mary Sidebottom who preceededhim in death in 1977. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church. He leavesthree stepsons, Otis & Melvin Sidebottom, both of Kansas City, &Coy Sidebottom of Versailles, three step-daughters, Mrs. Wilda McCasland& Mrs. Dessie Inman, both of Versailles, and Mrs. Della Turpin, Stover;15 step-grandchildren, and seven step-great-grandchildren, also a friendwho cared for him for several years. Mrs. Ethel Sells. He was preceededin death by one step-son. Funeral Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday,March 4 in the Scrivner Chapel with the Rev. George Scott officiating.Interment was in the Holt Cemetery near Gravois Mill.

Mrs. Rosa McCasland Dies
Mrs. Rosa McCasland, 71 years old, died at her home nine miles northeastof Versailles, Thursday, April 4. She had been in ill health the past twoyears.
Rosa Cantwell was born in West Salem, Ill., January 4, 1869. Shewas the daughter of Markus and Artiamisha Cantwell. She came to Missouriwith her parents at the age of 16 years. She was married to Andrew JacksonMcCasland, November 15, 1887, who preceded her in death July 17, 1929.She is survived by her ten children, Bertha Calton, Ada Calton, HattieCalton and Walter all of near Versailles. Jessie Coons of near California,Mary Towns of Camdenton, Frank, John and Harry, all of the home. She isalso leaving thirty-one grandchildren, two brothers, Ell of Gravois Millsand Clinton of Oklahoma, two sisters, Anna Hays of Versilles and ida Nationof Oklahoma and other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her passing.
Mrs. McCasland lived in Camden county most of her life, moving toMorgan County, February 1, 1935, when the Lake of the Ozarks covered herhome place. She was a good wife and mother, a faithful christian, and wasloved by all who knew her. She was a home lover and a great help and comfortto her friends and will be sadly missed by them and her family.
Funeral Services were held at Rockdale church Saturday afternoon.She had been a member of the Baptist church for 32 years. Rev. John Shanksofficiated at the funeral. Kidwell undertakers were in charge. Intermentwas in Rock Dale cemetery.
A precious one from us is gone, A voice we loved is stilled, A placeis vacant in our home, Which never can be filled; Oh, dear mother, we willmiss you, How sad and lonely we will be, But we hope some day to meet you,Where no parting will ever be.

Bert Cantwell
Bert Cantwell, 78, Eldon, died Wednesday at Lake of the Ozarks General Hospital, Osage Beach. He was born Dec. 5, 1917, in Camden County, a son of Shelva and Zona Vaughan Cantwell.
An Army veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked as a driver with Dunstan and Yows for many years. He worked as a custodian at Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital, Columbia, prior to his retirement.
Survivors include: two brothers, Burleigh Cantwell, Eldon, and Brandt Cantwell, Kansas City; and one sister, Beulah Apperson, Eldon.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Eldon. The body will be cremated. Private interment of the cremains will be at a later date. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today. Memorials are suggested to the American Lung Association or the American Cancer Society.
