Elmer married Luella Pease, #65, who was born in Summerhill, New York, 16 June 1892, daughter of Charles and Jennie (Leonard) Pease (1566). Elmer died from pneumonia about 17 August 1918, at the home of his mother Mrs. John Odell, leaving an unnamed widow (1417).

26. Alta Alva (or Alta Elva) Hughson ("Allie"), born in Tully Valley, Onondaga County, New York, 2 October 1890, became, at Homer, Cortland County, 8 July 1908, the second wife of a much older man, Charles Pease, who was born in Gibson or Corning or Painted Post, Steuben County, New York, 12 February 1854, son of Edwin Pease and Jennie Smith. Charles had first married Frances Jennie Leonard ("Jennie" or "Jane"), who was born in Dryden, Tompkins County, daughter of Charles Leonard and Mary Brown, and had children. Jennie died 18 August 1906. In 1892, Charles owned 12 acres in Summerhill, near Lake Como, in Cayuga County. When Charles and Alta married, Charles was age 55; Alta was age 18. Charles Pease died of cardiac degeneration, 20 August 1922, at age 68 years, 6 months, 8 days. Both Jennie and Charles are buried at Sand Hill Cemetery, just north of Dresserville, Sempronius Township, New York, not far from the old Pease farm (1566).

Alta Hughson and Charles Pease had about 7 children. Charles died in 1920, when his daughter Edna Mae was age 10. Alta married second, about 1923, Harry James Wilson ("Harry"), who had probably not been previously married and for whom no children are known by a earlier marriage. Harry James Wilson, born Scotland 1887, came from an immigrant family from Scotland who settled at Butte, Montana. Harry is thought to have hopped a train and left home as a young man (age 14-16). He served in the U.S. merchant marine and is said to have served the U.S. government as a spy. Later he came to the Syracuse area where he met Alta. Harry James Wilson worked in the Stickley Furniture factory in Syracuse, New York. He died 19 October 1940 in a fire in another factory, Precision Die Casting, in Syracuse, where he was a steamfitter. He was in the basement when the fire from the explosion came and he hoisted his men to the window to get them out. No one waited to help him get out. The men he saved were all pallbearers at his funeral. Harry is buried in Fayetteville cemetery. His obituary reports that he was age 47 (more likely 53) and that he had lived in the Syracuse area for 17 years (1574, 1579).

Alice Townsend Hickey died 20 May 1901, when Alfred was age 7, and Alfred was then adopted by Alice’s brother, Peter Townsend (1566).

Luella and Alfred Townsend divorced in the erly 1920’s. Luella married third, 4 July 1926, Melvin E. Macone. Alfred married second Marie Cleveland. Alfred died at Syracuse, New York, 23 December 1947, surving his wife Marie. Luella died at Endicott, New York, 5 June 1963 (1566).

27. Arthur James Hughson, born New York 13 January 1893, married first, in January 1919, Mary Jane Burdick. This marriage must have been short-lived, with no children. Arthur married second Ruby Crofoot (pronounced "Crowfoot"), daughter of Horace Crofoot. Arthur and Ruby had one child. Arthur died 4 April 1944, at age 51, and is buried at Fayetteville Cemetery, Onondaga County (1417, 1566, 1574).

591. Roberta Jean Hughson, born 19 February 1928, married Van Wilson Thrasher, whose family (brothers and sisters) live in Oklahoma. Van Thrasher, born 9 June 1929, was a son of Trulan Thrasher and Mary Elizabeth Amy, of southern origins. Roberta and Van lived on Apulia Road in Apulia or Jamesville, Onondaga County, New York. Van died 22 May 1991. Roberta was still living in lafayette/Jamesville in April 2001. They had 3 sons (1574, 1582).

28. Pearl F. Hughson, born New York in February 1895, married _______ Niles. She lived in Syracuse, New York, in 1918 (1566). Edna Mae Pease lived with Pearl for a time. Pearl had no children (1574).

29. Leroy C. Hughson ("Roy"), born New York in Febuary 1897, was stationed in the U. S. Army at Camp Dix in August 1918 (1566). Roy married first Helen __________. Helen had a baby boy a short time later, and Roy may have believed that it was not his child. In any case, they divorced and Helen raised the son as a Hughson. Roy married second Bertha _________. They had no children. Roy married third Catherine Bex, a cousin of Charles Thomas Bex above. They lived in Syracuse. No children (1574, 1582).

30. Leon Q. (or Leon I.) Hughson, born New York in August 1899, married Emily __________, who was from New York City. Leon and Emily lived in Fayetteville, New York, in August 1918 and later. No children. Emily had a brother and a sister in New York City who used to visit them (1566, 1574, 1582).

15. Charles Hughson, born New York September 1849, might not have married. In 1900 he was living alone in Otisco Township, Onondaga County, New York (45).

6. Benjamin Franklin Hughson ("Franklin"), born New York State 1829-30, was working as a butcher in the business of William Duff in Syracuse in 1850. He married Betsy Julia Holoway, who was born in New York 1837-38, possibly a daughter of Robert and Thirza Holloway of Eldridge Township. Benjamin served as a First Lieutenant in Company C, 100th New York Infantry in the Civil War. He filed for pension benefits as an invalid in October 1874. Benjamin and Betsy lived at Jordan, Onondaga County, New York. Benjamin died between 1877 and December 1879, as Betsy filed for pension benefits as a soldier's widow, 15 December 1879. In 1880 Betsy was living without a husband in DeWitt township, Onondaga County (41, 216, 1294).
