Your site is very good. I was directed to it by Terry Schulte. It has helped to enlarge and verify as well as add new facts and names to the Hunt-Finch line I am investigating for Grace Lorraine Finch. She remembers the Hunt farm on Hunt's Corners Road in Newstead. Her father farmed their for awhile. She and her family have lived in Akron for years. My family has also. I believe the Hunt, Finch, Lentz, Flint, Hurlspool, and Draper are related in some manner. Now comes the hard part to find out how? Thanks or the help from your site. Hutch

I do have quite a bit of info and was hoping to find more. Nevertheless, your site was interesting and informative in many other way .

Since many families with our surname must have originated in the Draperies of Eastern and Southern England, it follows that some of the book research I am currently carrying out will/should turn up some reference to common ancestors. You can add Williamson to your surname listing. My mother was Florence May Williamson, of St Albans - Hertfordshire. Her family are Australian Scots originating in North-east Scotland.

Having a general interest in Jackson County, Michigan, and specifically Rives Junction, your information on Lyman Draper, et al. was very interesting. Although I know of no familial connection between Beardsley and Draper, I am quite sure the family of Ly an Draper was closely located with my Lucien B. Beardsley and his father Charles Beardsley in Rives. I have bookmarked your page, and I will check my notes (land records from Jackson County in particular) prior to an additional post in the near future.

Dear Elwyn: I tried to contact you via e-mail w/o success. I am related to Marvin K. Draper 1828-1911 Wife Christina Draper 1838-1907. Their son Albert Kinney Draper l860-1922 wife Emma L. Draper 1866-1932. Their daughter Edna Lorraine Draper Holbrook 1886-1958 is my paternal grandmother. The Marvin Draper in your family tree is listed as born in Michigan 1846/47. Dates don't match. There is another Marvin C. Draper l868-1906 also buried in Benton Harbor, MI. I just was at the cemetery. Copied the dates from headstones. Any ideas of where it's connected? Hope this information helps. Marvin K. Draper must be descended from MILTON J. Draper. (Perhaps the birthdates are incorrect.) Thanks. Sincerely, Mary,

Recently I discovered in Daniel's obituary he returned to England on visits after settling in Strongsville, Ohio. So he must have left family behind when they came to USA in 1836. I have been looking for those connections.

My search is unique as I'm trying to find two different side of the Draper lineage. My husbands connection and my own connection. I recieved pictures from my great aunt recently that are of MY Draper relatives: ALBERT, ALBERT S.(picture of a tombstone dated 1886),CHARLES EUGENE EARL, NANNIE, CICLE, BESSIE (Cicle and Bessie are Thompson) I believe that they are from 1912-15 as the da es on the back of some of the postcards indicate. Postmarked Madison, Illiois. My husbands gfather& gmother CARLTON and MADGE and father JOHN WILBUR DRAPER are from Baltimore, MD. My husbands father did not know his father, but .. his mother and grandmother(unknown name) were prostitutes in the steel district in Balt. As you can imagine, It is really a strange but interesting situation. It would be fun tying us together in another way besides our marriage. Iknow that your lineage doesn't show these people, but I thought you may find it interesting. If you do come across any of these names though, I would greatly appreciate any information. Thanks Dianne CHARLES DRAPER

Thanks for not passing along all the wrong information about Peter Mallory's parents... its nice to see someone get that right. Just one correction: you list Adam Preston and Isabel Braithwaite as parents of Elizabeth Sale. They are actually her husband, William Preston's parents. Elizabeth's parents are Edward Sale and Elizabeth (daughter of John) Giffard. Edward Sale's parents a e John Sale and Agnes, widow of William Byrch (her maiden name unknown). Finally, check out Gary Boyd Roberts' The Royal Descents of 500 Immigrants, if you can find it. Elizabeth Trowbridge (wife of Peter Mallory, Jr) is a descendant of Hugh Capet, King of France (and therefore of Charlemagne) through her parents, Thomas Trowb idge and Elizabeth Marshall.

I am a direct descendant of Captain Samuel Draper, a "spirited" English sea captain. Captain Samuel was a first cousin of James "The Puritan" Draper. Captain Samuel Draper and James "The Puritan" Draper are buried close together in a cemetery at Roxbury, Massachusetts. Their tomestones, weathered by the years, but readable, are still standing. My father visited the old cemetery a few years ago and has pictures of the tombsones. Don't know if your Draper family line relates at all to Captain Samuel Draper or James "The Puritan" Draper, but thought I would relay this information to you. This website is very interesting. As I have time, I plan to study it more thoroughly. Daniel D. Draper, Jr.

Thank you for the information on Joseph Brant on the GenWeb Forum. I was already pretty sure that the old family legends of our being descended from him were not true. I had wondered about Molly though, didn't her children keep the name Brant? I am descended from a John Brant (1775-1830), probably born in PA or NY and who married Mary Catherine Cale in Rockingham Co. VA before moving to Greenbrier Co. WV. I would appreciate anything you might have on the Brants of NY & PA. You are welcome t anything I have on the Greenbrier Co. Brants.
