Berry Robertson's Deed

State Of South Carolina know all men by this presents that I Berry Robertson (sic) of the district of Kershaw in the state aforesaid in consideration of ten(?)dollars to me paid by James Baskin of the district of Kershaw in the state aforesaid have granted, bargained, sold released and by these presents do grant bargain sell and release unto the said James Baskins a certain plantation or tract of land situated in the said district of Kershaw on the north east side of Little Lynches Creek approved(?) to contain f?? acres be the same more or less the same being part of that survey of five hundred and thirty acres which was granted to the same James Robertson on the 21st of January, 1785 and the said premises being separated from the said 570 (could be 590) acre survey and bounded as follows viz:Beginning a Pine and running southeasterly come to a branch and running down the branch to Camden Road and down the road until it strikes the said James Baskins line from thence to the said beginning pine. Together with also and singular the rights members heriditainments(sp) and appertaining(sp?) to the said premises belonging or in any ways appertaining. To have and to hold all and singularthe said premises unto the said James Baskin, his heirs and assigns forever. abd I do hereby bind myself, my heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and defend all and singular the premises before mentioned unto the said James Baskin his heirs and assigns forever against all manner of lawful claims. Witness my hand and seal this twenty-ninth day of October in the year of oru Lord one-thousand eight hundred and eighteen and in the forty third year of the Independence of the United States of America.

South Carolina, Lancaster District, personally appeared before me Hollis Horton and made oath that he saw Berry Robinson sign, seal and deliver the within instrument of writing to James Baskin for the ? and purposes within mentioned and he also saw Joseph Williams assign his name as a s??? witness to the same sworn to before me this 4th of November 1818.
