I'm Barb Marshall and I'd like to welcome you to my little corner of the net.
There are a lot of things I do much better than setting up web pages. I would like to thank my
dear friend, Bill Oliver, for doing all that for me. Bill and I met several years ago when I took my
Drake research to the Internet. I wrote to many of the genealotgy discussion lists in search of my
ancestors and alsways ended my inquiries with the line:
"Searching for DRAKES, any time, any where."
Several people responded and we began exchanging e-mails within our small
group. Each header included a long list of names and e-addresses. This soon became impractical
and we decided to take our list "public". That was the beginning of "THE DRAKE
EXCHANGE", a list that has grown to a membership of several hundred researchers. Bill was
part of ouroriginal group and became my co-host of the list. Through the years he's always been
there, for which I am very grateful.
I am also very grateful to Roy Andrews for setting up the official DRAKE website and doing
such a wonderful job with it.
