WINTON O. DUNN SERVED IN THE CONFEDERATE STATES ARMY FROM FEBRUARY1862UNTIL THE END OF THE WAR IN APRIL, 1865. HE ENLISTED AS A PRIVATEINFOWLER'S (PHELAN'S) BATTERY OF ALABAMA LIGHT ARTILLERY. DURING THECOURSEOF THE WAR, HE WAS PROMOTED TO CORPORAL.

There an additional 6 children whodied in infancy. There were 21childrenin this marriage. This is one ofthe first Dunn families tocome toAlabama. These Duns are emigrants fromEngland. They movedsouth fromVirginia to North Carolina and west toTennessee and then onto Alabama.
