15. John3 Wilkie (James2, James1) (Migrated to Gloucester County, Virginia and established a shipping business there. He bacame involved in the American Revolutionary War, serving as a pilot for Admiral Dinsmoore's British fleet in Chesapeake Bay. Later captured and held as a prisoner for the duration of the War. Deported to Nova Scotia, arriving 1783-07-15, and being assigned a Loyalist land grant at Shelburne, NS. There was some delay in getting the grant exercised, so he moved to La Have with his hometown friend, John Ross, who experienced the same problem. Together, they purchased most of the land known as the Bear Hills in North Middle La Have, and started farming it.
