13 Dec 1884 – H.C. Harris living near Dexter, died of pneumonia after an illness of 14 days. He leaves a wife and 5 children.
1 Aug 1885 Dexter - H. Harris has boxed his goods preparing for removal to St. Louis.

Now comes the parties the cause being at issue is by agreement submitted to the Court for trial without a jury and the Court having heard the evidence and agreement of amount adjudged by the court that the plaintiff recover of the defendant as administrator of Henry Harris, deceased the sum of ten dollars with one dollar and ten cents for his costs to be covered of the defendant to be administrated or which shall here after come to the hand of defendant to administrator.

Now at this day comes Louisa Harris administratrix of Henry C. Harris, deceased and presents her accounts and vouchers for her first annual settlement and charges himself with three hundred dollars and eighty three dollars and twenty eight cents. And gives herself credit for eighty one dollars and eleven cents. Leaving a balance due of three hundred and two dollars and seventeen cents. And the court having carefully examined said settlement and judging it correct is by the court approved and ordered filed and received.

Estate of Geo. R. & M.E. Harris, John L. Dowdy, Gdn. – Order to sell timber on land of wards.
Now at this day comes John L. Dowdy as the Guardian and curator of George R. & Margaret E. Harris minors and represents and shows to the Court that he has nothing in his hands available for the support, maintaince and education of said minors that said minors have some real estate upon which is growing and standing timber that is not necessary to the fencing of the lands of said minors that price and means realized from the sale thereof to help support maintain and educate said minors and that it will be to the interest of said minors to sell the same. It is therefore ordered by the Court that the Guardian sell said timber at private sale for cash and that he report his proceeding to the next term of this Court.
