Know all men by these presents that we Coleman e. Harris, Urbane Harriss, William Harriss, B.B. Spicer, William Mc Carland, Thomas Childress, Hiram McElyer, F. Yeates, W.W. Doughon and Z.T. Crsim? All of the County of Humphries in the State of Tennessee are held and firmly bound unto Hiram B. Taylor chairman of the County Court for the County aforesaid for the time being and his sucessions in officiate in the sum of Four thousand dollars which his payment will and truly to be maid we bind ourselves our heirs executors and administrators … severally and firmly by there presents sealed with our seals and dated the fourth day of April 1842. The conditions of the above obligation is such that whereas the above bound Coleman E. Harriss is elected trustee of the revenues of Humphries County. Now if the above bound Coleman E. Harriss shall keep safely all moneys belonging to the County aforesaid and pay over the same agreeable to the orders of the County Court all such County money as may be deposited in his hands and faithfully discharge all the duties of his said office agreeable to law then the above obligation to be void otherwise to remain in full force and effect.
