Theory:
William C.'s birth date. Although William C. is mentioned in the Will of George K. Dowdy as the 4th son, I believe him to be the Oldest son. {George K. did not mention William C.'s children in the order of their birth] -
William was found in the Hickman Co. records along with the oldest brothers, Gibson & Chiles. William C. was married to Lucy L.T. Dowdy, b. 1801 - we know her age from the 1860 census and her headstone. William C. had to be closer
to her age, if born after Chile's he would have been 10-15 years younger than Lucy. Their first son Watson was born when Lucy was in her 30's. With no actual proof of William C.'s birth year, I am placing him as the oldest child.
