Death Claims Stewart, 87

G. E. Stewart, 87 of Albia, died Wednesday evening at Smith Hospital.
The son of Stephen and Ann Stewart, he was born in Monroe county Nov. 17, 1869, and lived on a farm in the Buxton community before establishing a residence in Albia in 1941.
Before his wife's death in 1955 they celebrated their sixty-fourth wedding anniversary.
Services for Mr. Stewart will be Saturday at 2:30 p.m. at Lewis funeral home, with Rev. Donald C. Bissinger of First Methodist church officiating, and burial will be in Woodlawn cemetery, Lovilia.
Mr. Stewart is survived by 10 children. They are Mrs. Mable Dietz and Mrs. Flossie Severn, both of Des Moines, Mrs. Dorthy Teasdale of Flint, Mich., Lloyd H. Stewart and Ralph A. Stewart of Waterloo, Floyd E. Stewart of Winterhaven, Fla., Marvin Stewart of Flint Mich., Harold Stewart of Sponard, Alaska, and Loren Stewart and Lennis Stewart of Albia.
In addition to his wife he was preceeded in death by a daughter, Dolly.

ALBIA. - George E. Stewart, 86, died at 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Smith Hospital. He lived at 311 Fourth Ave. east.
He formerly was a maintenance foreman at Buxton for the North Western railroad. Later he was a trucker. He was born in Monroe County and spent his life here.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Mabel Dietz and Mrs. Flosie Severn of Des Moines and Mrs. Dorthy Teasdale of Flint Mich., and seven sons, Ralph and Loyd of Waterloo, Floyd of Winter Haven Fla., Harold of Alaska, Marvin of Flint Mich., and Lorn and Lennie at home.
There are eight grandchildren four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, a sister and three brothers preceeded him in death.
The body is at the Lewis funeral home.
