 Marjorie Bettis got her nose hurt Oct 14, 1932, at school. Marjorie & Doloris run in to one another while playing. Marjorie had the bones crushed bad in her nose. Dr. Jenkins her Dr. Sat. Oct 15, Mon. Oct 17 & Wed. Oct 19.
 Floyd A. Bettis took the Flu bad Dec 14 - 1932 on Tues. Wed. Dec 15, Dr. Bay brought Dr. Gray and nurse, Mrs. Wilbur Peterson. Fever better than 105°. Dr. Bay said he didn't find any Pneumonia this morning. This evening Dr. Gray said he found in both had crossed. Dr. Bay showed Anis & I the Ralls in the spit. Dr. Bay told Anis & I he wanted to tell Floyd he had Pneumonia, but Edna said not. The Dr. said he ought to know it. Dr. Bay & Dr. Jenkins came Dec 16, 1932. Anis and I went to Floyd Dec 14. Came home Dec 24, 1932.  Floyd went through the crisis time Mon. Dec 19, the 7th day.
 Edna's Heart bad and Maxine took sick Dec 14 - 1932 with the Flu..
 Marcella Jane Stewart operated on for Appendicitis Jan 12, 1933. Came home Jan 21 - 1933 on Sat.
 Edward Leroy Major operated on for Mastoids March 24 - 1933, Fri. eve.
 Dr. Bay and Roy Major took Edward to see Dr. at Ottumwa, A specialist, March 23 - 1933. He had Scarlet Fever then operated on for Mastoids. Edward will be 2 years old July 9 - 1933.
 Roy Major and family moved to Russell, Iowa April 10, 1933. Bought them a farm.
 Kenneth pulled Williams to Hiteman Apr 25 - 1933. Both trucks went over the Lee Hill. No one hurt.

 Floyd Bettis got both bones broke in his right ankle June 7, 1926. Floyd came home from the Hospital June 13,
on Sun. Went to work about Aug 30.
 Bill Monroe got hurt in an automobile accident Sept 29, 1938.
 Marsh Bettis got his right ankle throwed out of place and twisted Oct 23, 1926. Dr. Avery took him to the
Hospital. Dr. Bay put it back in place.
 Marie Bettis took sick with a strained heart in Dec, 1931.
 Kenneth Bettis took sick Feb 2 - 1932 with Flu. Missed several days of school in 2 weeks.
 Edna Bettis burnt her right hand Jan 6, 1932 with hot lard.
 Richard Bettis took sick with the Flu Feb 2. Went back to school Feb 8, 1932.
 Wendell Bettis got hurt Feb 10 - 1932. Diamond horse fell with him coming home from Albia H. S. Smashed and squeezed his right foot badly. Wendell started back to school Feb 17, 1933.

 Maxine Bretrell Bettis took sick March 12 - 1930 with Pneumonia. Set up first time March 25. Nurse, Mrs. Will Palmer, came Tues. eve March 21. Left March 28. Started to school April 14. Dr. Bay & Dr. Jenkins.
 Wendell Emerson Bettis took sick March 12 - 1930 on his twelfth Birthday with Intestinal Flu & Bowel trouble. Got up dressed for the first time March 24. Started school April 1st. Dr. Bay, 1930.
 Richard Lavern Bettis took sick March 12 - 1930 with Intestinal Flu, Pleurisy, Pneumonia & Bowel trouble. Had Dr. Bay, Dr. Chester & Dr. Jenkins. Called Dr. Jenkins April 13 - 1930. Richard got up dressed for the first time March 24 - 1930. He was up two or three days, got temperature, went back to bed. Dr. Chester came with Dr. Bay April 2. He was in bed about all the month of April.  Went to Albia May 2nd, 1930 first time.
 A. Bettis got hurt with Diamond horse March 11 - 1931. Pelvis bone cracked, ligaments tore loose. Bruised up
quite a bit.
 Wendell E. Bettis got hurt Oct 8, 1931. Horse fell on pavement with him. Got a knee cap fracture, ligaments tore loose. Bruised Diamonds left knee.
 Marie Bettis got her left arm hurt Oct 10 - 1931. A box fell while washing a window. Got arm bruised pretty bad, ligaments tore loose.
 Floyd A. Bettis house burned on his farm Jan 26, on Tues., 1931 or 32.

 Marsh Bettis came home sick from work on the shale Dec 2 - 1933. Went back to work on Mon. Dec 4. Wasn't really able to work Dec 5. Went to see Dr. Bay in the morning. Didn't work. A. B. went with M. B. when he went over to Mr. Poe, Dec 7, Thur. Marie took Marsh to Dr. Bay. He lanced his throat for Quinay. Started keeping hot water bottle over his throat Dec 7. Couldn't hardly understand Marsh talk. Marsh's throat broke Dec 9 on Sat. Anis was with him at the time. Marsh went to see Dr. Bay Dec 11. Went back to work Dec 12, on the shale. Marsh went to see Dr. Dec 20. Got medicine.
 Kenneth Bettis, County Agent Hamilton & some other boys went to Ames, Ia. Dec 27 on Wed. Came home Fri. Dec 29 - 1933. To take a short course Farm Bureau.
 Marsh Bettis got a cinder in his right eye at Buxton 19, Jan 31, 1934. Work for C. W. A. Dr. Moran from Melrose to get out the cinder.
 Joy Evans came to Lloyd Bettis' Dec 31 - 1933. They took him back to Oskaloosa Mon. eve Jan 1st, 1934.
 Maxine Bettis lost her voice Dec 19 on Tues. at school, 1933. Her voice first came back at League at the
Methodist church in Albia Jan 28. Next morning she couldn't talk in the morning at school. About 9:30 O'clock,
1934, Jan 29. On Monday took Maxine to the throat specialist. Jan 27 took her to Ottumwa. Jan 31 second time to Dr. Bovennyer(?).
 Maxine Bettis went to Oskaloosa Dec 29, 1933. Methodist Convention.
 Floyd Bettis took 4 H girls and their leader, Edna Bettis, to Ottumwa Jan 27 - 1934. They went through the packing plant and Mrs. Frank ? to see her table which contains 18,000 pieces of wood.

 Went Sun. up to Clio, Ia. to visit there cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Bettis, which are both sick in bed. Which
the former is serious ill. Arthur took his bed Feb 19 - 1934. Arthur died July 14 - 1934.
 Maxine, Marjorie & Doloris Bettis went to Des Moines Aug 27 - 1934 on Mon. Went with Floyd. Came home Aug 30. Floyd took a truck load Aug 29 boys and girls Four H boys and girls. Came home Aug 30 from
Des Moines Fair. Kenneth, Wendell, Herbert, Edna & Marie went too. 1934.
 Richard Bettis went up to see Roy Jr. Bettis Aug 29, 1934, with Marsh as he went to work on the gymnasium.
Roy Jr's leg is in a cast.
 Melvin Marsh Bettis stayed with his Grandpa and Grandma Bettis when they went to the fair. Richard Bettis
stayed with Grandpa and Grandma Bettis Aug 30. Marsh, Richard and Melvin stayed home at night.
 Wendell, Anis and Elnora went to Moravia Sept 30 - 1934 to see Emma and Jimmie Scott and Robb Stoops.

 Wendell Bettis got picked up on the fender of Mr. Reno Della Vedova's car Nov 10 - 1934, when selling Des Moines Register. Didn't get hurt. One car coming from the East didn't stop that should of and he stepped in front of Mr. Reno Della Vedova's car.
 Mrs. C. H. Stewart died Nov 4 - 1934 in Auburn, New York. Her body was brought back to Lovillia Nov 6. Election night. The body came through Albia. Orville, Jeanette and Herbert on the train with the body. Bertha, Harvey, Verince and Gerald, Harry and wife, Aunt Emma & cousin Lucy, Truman, from California, drove through in cars. Malcolm and Stella were at Lovillia to meet the train from Des Moines.
