Eva Showerman1

F, #4484, born 23 April 1788, died before 1860
Relationship3rd great-grandmother of Doris Joan Muller
Father*Petrus Schauermann died before 5 October 1822
Mother*Maria Freer2 born after 1750
Three children named Eva Schauerman were born within four years of each other. The most likely is shown here and is chosen because (1) she had two brothers named Peter and Andrew and two sisters named Maria and Catherine, perhaps namesakes for Andrew Peter and Mary Catherine Shirtz and (2) her birth year agrees with the 1850 census entry. The other two Evas are (1) Eva b. 12 Mar 1790 to Conrad and Eva Schauermann, sp. Antoni Schmid and Eva - #1073 St. Thomas Luth, Ch., Churchtown; (2) Eva b. 14 Oct 1792 to David Schauermann and Anny How, sp. Mosis Bicksby and Eva Schauermann - Hillsdale Ref. Ch., Hillsdale -- both in Columbia County.

-One more consideration: If my Eva had her children baptized in the same church where she was baptized, then she would have been born in 1790 to Conrad and Eva instead of Petrus and Maria.

Note*Eva apparently never married the father(s) of her children.
Name VariationEva Showerman was also known as Schauerman.
Name VariationShe was also known as Shauerman.
Birth*She was born on 23 April 1788.1
BaptismShe was baptized on 12 May 1788 at St. John's Luth. Ch., Manorton, Columbia, New York, Parents: Petrus Schauermann and Maria (Fraherin?); sponsors are Jacob Best and wife Eva (Schmit - see Jones p. 724).3,4
Census*She appeared on the census of 1850 at Taghkanic, Columbia, New York, age 62, with her (probable) daughter Catherine Anderson and her family. Notice that the head of household is Margaret Stever, probably a relative of Catharina Apollonia Stiever who married Andreas Schurtz, the Palatine immigrant.5,6
CensusShe appeared on the census of 1855 Eva is still in the Anderson household (as she was in 1850) as mother-in-law, but her daughter Catherine had died.7,8
Death*Eva Showerman died before 1860 Assumed since she cannot be found on the 1860 census.

Census*Conrad Schauerman appeared on the census of 1810 There is an entry for a Conrad Shuarts in Plattekill, Ulster, NY with three adult males and one female, probably his wife. There is another ewntry for this same person in the 1820 census, same place. I don't think this is Conrad Showerman, but I can't find him anywhere else.1
