March 26 1836 

At Newtownlimavady [Co Londonderry], on Monday, the 21st inst., aged 21 years, ELIZA, the wife of HUGH LANE, ESQ., solicitor, and daughter of the REV JOHN WILKINSON, Rector of Mevagh

 

January 4 1840 

On the 29th ult., at the residence of THOMAS HASTINGS, ESQ., of Creeslough, near Dunfanaghy, MISS DENNISTON, aged 99 years. She was sister to CAPTAIN JAMES DENNISTON, and niece to the REV JOHN DENNISTON, who was for many years, Rector of the parish of Mevagh

 

October 10 1840 

On the 1st inst., the REV JOHN WILKINSON, Rector of the parish of Mevagh, aged 62 years. Mr. Wilkinson held the commission of the peace for the county of Tyrone, at Drumquin, for upwards of 16 years, up to the recent revision of the Magistracy

 

December 19 1840 

On Thursday week, a man named NEAL CALLEN, a whitesmith, was found dead near to Carrigart, in the parish of Mevagh. He had travelled that day from his residence in Kilmacrenan, and had stopped at several public houses. Coroners verdict - found dead

 

January 31 1846 

On the 19th inst., MR HUGH McGETTIGAN, of Creevy, Parish of Mevagh, brother in law of the RIGHT REV MR McGETTIGAN, after a short illness, in the 57th year of his age

 

April 18 1851 

On the 14th inst., at the residence of her brother in law, the REV JAMES CRAWFORD, Rector of Mevagh, county Donegal, aged 26 years, MARGARET, the beloved wife of SAMUEL JOHNSTON, ESQ., and daughter of the late REV JOHN WILKINSON, formerly Rector of Mevagh

On the 23rd August, at Carrigart, county Donegal, aged 83 years, LETITIA COLL, otherwise DENISTON, widow, for forty years sextoness of the Parish Church of Mevagh. She was the grand-daughter of the 'noted' DR WILDER, who was Oliver Goldsmith's tutor in Trinity College, Dublin

December 24, at Greenfield, the seat of her son, HENRY WILLIAM WRAY, ESQ., Inspector of county Longford Constabulary, ELIZABETH, aged 98, relict of the late JOHN WRAY, Captain of the 39th Regiment of Foot, and daughter of the late REV ALEXANDER CRAWFORD, Prebendary of the Parish of Clondehorky, and sister of the REV JAMES CRAWFORD, Rector of Mevagh

 

September 30 1864 

On the 23rd September, at his residence, Rossgull Lodge, Carrigart, the REV JAMES CRAWFORD, Rector of the Parish of Mevagh, aged 98 years

 

February 28 1865 

February 12, at the Manse, Carrigart, MR GEORGE McCLURE, aged 17 years, second son of the REV FRANCIS McCLURE

 

October 30 1866 

In July last, at Deepwater, New England, Sydney, New South Wales [Australia], CHARLES KNOX, eldest and only surviving son of the late REV JOHN WILKINSON, Rector of Mevagh, county Donegal

 

January 15 1867 

The driver of a bread cart between Dunfanaghy and Carrigart, named O'DONNELL, perished in the late snow. The horse was capsized in a snow wreath on the road between Carrigart and Lackagh Bridge, and the poor driver perished
