On Wednesday last, PATRICK McDYRE, a young man from Carricknamoghill, was drowned whilst sea bathing at Lough Head, near Killybegs. He had gone beyond his depth and had got into difficulties, although he was taken from the water within minutes, efforts to restore animation were ineffectual

On 19 July 1880 at the residence of his son, John McGarrigle, ESQ, Killybegs, Co Donegal, Ireland, James McGarrigle, brother to the Very Rev Edward McGarrigle, DDPP, Killybegs, brother-in-law to D Devanny, MD, Killybegs and Rev John Devanny, PP, Stranorlar, father of E McGarrigle, Hamilton (NZ) aged 64 years - May he rest in peace.
