He married twice. He married Vetland Elizabeth Mulkey in Cherokee County, North Carolina, 01 JUL 1866. Vetland was born in Blairsville, Union County, Georgia 26 JUL 1844. Vetland was the daughter of William Ritch Mulkey and Anna Prater. Vetland died 8 APR 1919 in Polk County, Tennessee, at 74 years of age. He married Eva Post abt. 1890. Eva died bef. 10 OCT 1928.
