2. J. Hilyard² Tramel (John¹) was born in Georgia 1 MAR 1812.⁽²⁰⁷⁾ J. died 27 MAY 1886 in Saint Clair County, Alabama, at 74 years of age.⁽²⁰⁸⁾ His body was interred abt. 29 MAY 1886 in Steele, Saint Clair County, Alabama, Dearman Chapel Cemetery.⁽²⁰⁹⁾

He married Clarissa Newman in Saint Clair County, Alabama, 25 OCT 1845. Clarissa was born in South Carolina 1824. Clarissa was the daughter of Reuben Newman and Mary (Polly) ?. Clarissa died 30 MAY 1893 in Saint Clair County, Alabama, at 68 years of age.

J. Hilyard Tramel and Clarissa Newman had the following children:

+ 6 i. Henry Bryant³ Tramel was born 1850.

+ 7 ii. John (Jack) Tramel was born 1852.

+ 8 iii. Harris Tanner Tramel was born 20 DEC 1853.

9 iv. Elizabeth (Betty) Tramel was born in Steele, Saint Clair County, Alabama 15 NOV 1857. Elizabeth died 24 AUG 1925 in Saint Clair County, Alabama, at 67 years of age. Her body was interred abt. 26 AUG 1925 in Saint Clair County, Alabama, Beason Union Cemetery. She married Miller Beason in Steele, Saint Clair County, Alabama, 13 SEP 1874. Miller was born in Alabama 27 MAR 1853. Miller was the son of Harkey Beason and Unity Brown. Miller died 8 AUG 1903 in Steele, Saint Clair County, Alabama, at 50 years of age. His body was interred abt 10 AUG 1903 in Steele, Saint Clair County, Alabama, Beason Union Cemetery. (See Miller Beason for the continuation of this line.)

10 v. Mary Ellen Tramel was born in Saint Clair County, Alabama APR 1860. Mary died 1938 in Saint Clair County, Alabama, at 78 years of age. Her body was interred 1938 in Steele, Saint Clair County, Alabama, Dearman Chapel Cemetery. She married twice. She married George Awtry. She married J. T. Battles.

11 vi. Lidia Tramel was born in Saint Clair County, Alabama 1863.

+ 12 vii. Benjamin Franklin Tramel was born 1864.
