He married Gabrella Arminda Ballew. Gabrella was born in Burke County, North Carolina 1843.⁽¹⁶⁰⁾ Gabrella was the daughter of John Ballew and Elizabeth McTaggart. Her body was interred in Ducktown, Polk County, Tennessee, Methodist Cemetery.⁽¹⁶¹⁾
