Mr. Wm. M. Vickrey,
    Dear Brother,
I seat myself this afternon for the purpose of trying to write a few lines to you to let you know how we are all getting along: we are all about but Grand mother is not well she has had a very bad cold for two weeks and has had a severe cough with it sometimes I fear she will never get over it. Father’s folks were all well yesterday; the rest of the connecitions are well so far as I know.
Should you ever receive this letter write immediately for we have not heard a word from you since your letter to Delilah last spring.
I will inform you of the Death of Adelia Bales in September and also of Jonathan Field yesterday.
Nomore at present but write soon to your affectionate sister.
