S. W. Vickrey

                    Dear Son

I make use of the time tonight to write you a few lines to let you know that we are in the land of the living and well as usual but your Mother and she is better.  She has got able to be up and doing the most of her work.  She had a girl last week but she went home last sunday as she thought she had rather do what she could than be telling all the time and then not getting things as she wanted.  we are not done planting corn yet the ground has got rather dry we had a light shower wednesday evening not a season but made things look fine.  Our wheat is still looking well. but the blades are getting the rust on them it is getting out in head oats is not looking very well that is spring sown.  Fruit getting along pretty well especially peaches & berries.  Our Buckinghams at the old place did not bloom this spring uncle will got home yesterday I suppose have not seen him.  Nothing more at present remain as ever your affectionate parent.

                                                                    A.   Vickrey

I mailed a letter to you last Saturday
