Greetings!

I would like to encourage any male descendants of George Barber and his wife Margaret Watkins to participate in the Barber family DNA project at http://www.familytreedna.com/public/barber/ Just click on the link that says "Join this Project." I would like to encourage any male descendants of Plyer Barber, brother of George, to do the same. We have one descendant of George and one descendant of Plyer that has been tested for 12 markers, and hopefully they will go to 37 markers.

I would also like to encourage any male descendants of James Barber and his wife Penelope to test with Family Tree DNA. We have discovered an exact match for 37 markers with a descendant of Moses Barber, who was born 1755-1760 and died about 1800 in Chatham County, North Carolina. So we need more tests to determine their exact relationship. But there is a 97.28% probability that Moses Barber and James Barber were brothers, and we need to find their father.

Lastly, if you are a male descendant of John Bunyon Markham, or a descendant of Abner Markham, please consider testing with Family Tree DNA. We do have an exact match with a descendant of Nimrod Markham, but no descendants of Abner Markham have tested as yet.
