Zeppelin Field, the only physical remains of the Nazi Party ideology, lies deserted and stripped of its grandeur. When we visited the Zeppelin Field site today, most of the structure erected by the Nazi Party was gone! Remnants of the reviewing stand remain but the colonnade and the swastika that topped it were long ago torn down. The bowl with the eternal flame is gone having been taken away and converted into a kiddy pool that resides elsewhere! Only the bleachers and a concrete platform remain. |
The field and berm in front of the review stand at Zeppelin Field are now overgrown with grass. This photo shows several of the entrances to Zeppelin Field, located behind the berm, that still remain. Their original purpose was crowd control. Now, all stand silent and devoid of the crowds that creators once envisioned! |
