CARTER FAMILY

Thank you for visiting. I'm glad you stopped by. When my Carter ancestors came to Trumbull County, Ohio in the mid-1800's, they lived in a log cabin in Weathersfield Township. There were four boys and two girls in the family. In 1847 my Great-Great-Great-Granddad, John Carter, died and left my Great-Great-Great-Grandmother to raise the children who ranged in age from one year to fifteen.
Grandma took in sewing and tailored clothing for women. The boys went out to work as soon as they were old enough. It was a hard time, but they survived.
Let me introduce you to my Great-Great-Grandfather, Riley Carter. That's his picture below. He fought in Co. A, 113th OVI during the Civil War. You can learn more about him by clicking on his picture.
