Crich Quarry
Viewed from Shuckstone (near Wheatcroft)

crich_quarry.jpg (273086 bytes)

Crich Quarry - The photograph was taken from the direction of the part of Crich Parish known as Shuckstone. The word 'shuck' apparently meant a 'robber'. In days long gone, this area would be fairly bare and lonely. Just the right sort of area to be be frequented by rogues and vagabonds, lying in wait for an unsuspecting traveller.
