Isaac Wright, Power of Attorney

The following document, transcribed from a film of the original on file at the Tennessee State Library and Archives, proves the father/son relationship of the first Isaac Wright in the database and Isaac Wright of Randolph County, North Carolina.

No. 546: Isaac Wright, Power of Attorney, Isaac T. Wright

Know all men by these presents that Isaac Wright of the County of Rutherford and State of Tennessee died possessed of personal and real estate and by his last will and testament gave to his wife Rebecca a certain part of his personal estate consisting of negroes horses and stock of various descriptions farming utensils household furniture __ during her natural life and at her death to descend to his children to be equally divided amongst them; and whereas I, Isaac Wright of the County of Randolph and State of North Carolina being one of the sons and heirs of sd Isaac Wright decd and being desirous that my son Isaac T. Wright now of Rutherford County and State of Tennessee should obtain and enjoy my share of the personal property so willed, do authorize him in my _______ to demand and sue for _____ _____ and receive from the executors of the last will and testament of Isaac Wright decd such share so willed to me at the death of Rebecca the wife of the said Isaac decd. And I do hereby authorize and empower my said son Isaac T. Wright to give receipts for such part of said estate as he may receive or for all of it. I the said Isaac Wright do hereby ratify and confirm all the acts of the said Isaac T. Wright which may be by him done in the obtaining porportion of the above named estate and shall consider them as binding on me as if I were myself personally present transacting said business myself. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 4th day of November 1828.
