HOLD SERVICE IN CALIFORNIA
Services were held this week at Modesto, Cal., for Mrs. Will Junk, former resident of Normal, who died at her home in Modesto last Thursday, Jan 26.
Mrs. Junk had been seriously ill for only a few days and her son, Arthur Junk of Normal, was enroute to Modesto when she died.
Lillian Rupple, daughter of F. A. Rupple, and Amanda Rupple was born in Chillicothe, Ohio, Feb 13, 1856. She came to Illinois with her parents when a small child. She was married to Will Junk, Oct. 1, 1877 at Hudson, Ill. They lived there until six years ago when they moved to California.
Mrs. Junk is survived by her husband and two sons, Maurice Junk, Modesto, and Arthur Junk, Normal. One daughter, Fannie, died several years ago. She is also survived by three sisters, Mary Hinthorn, Normal; Bess Rupple, Chicago, and Mrs. George Patton, Los Angeles, Cal., and by four brothers, George Rupple of Pennsylvania, Ed Rupple, Chicago; Frank Rupple of Iowa and John Rupple of Missouri.
Arthur Junk is expected to return to Normal within the next several days from California.
JUNK--In Modesto, Jan. 26, Lillian, wife of William J. Junk, mother of Arthur E. of Normal, Ill., and Morris (sic) M., of Modesto, sister of Mrs. Mary Hinthorn of Normal, Ill., Bess Ruple (sic) of Chicago, Mrs. Nettie Patton of Los Angeles, E. J. Ruple of Ind., John of Mo., George of Penn., and Frank of Iowa, grandmother of Wilbur and Melvin Junk of Modesto, a native of Ohio, aged 71 years, 11 months, 18 days.
Friends are invited to attend the funeral services, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Shannon Funeral Chapel, 921 12th street. Rev J. M. Morris officiating. Internment Odd Fellows cemetery.
