FORMER SAC CITY MAN 93 YEARS OLD
Mrs. J. W. Neal returned Tuesday from her trip to Clarissa, Minn., whither she had gone about two weeks before to be present at a family reunion. The gathering was held at the home of Mrs. Neal's brother, A. C. Denniston, with whom the aged father, Andrew Denniston now resides. For the first time in thirty-seven years the elder Mr. Denniston had the pleasure of seeing all his children together, the only vacant chair being that of the mother who passed on about fourteen years ago. The brothers and sisters spent a week with their father and it is no exaggeration to say that no hour of their visit was dull. Although past his ninety-third milestone, Mr. Denniston enjoys reasonably good health, has a good appetite, takes a daily walk, and reads with interest his daily newspaper. His memory, too, seems unimpaired and his children will not soon forget the delightful reminiscences with which he filled many an hour during the time they spent together. The Denniston's resided in Sac City for many years and both the aged father and his children have many friends and acquaintances throughout the county who congratulate them not only upon the pleasures of that long to be remembered week but also upon the clean record of the family and their usefulness to the communities in which they reside. Those who participated in the reunion were Mrs. E. E. Lloyd of Poplar, Mont., A. C Denniston of Clarissa, Mrs. J. W. Neal of Lake View, Mrs. C. J. LeGore of Jefferson, Mrs. H. A. Crandall of Rockwell City and S. W. Denniston of Gettysberg, S. Dak.
A REMARKABLE CITIZEN
Germania township has a most remarkable citizen and it is doubtful if there is another in Minnesota that can equal his record. This paper refers to Andrew Denniston, father of A. C. Denniston, residing eight miles north of this village. Mr. Denniston, without doubt is the oldest citizen who voted in Todd county last Monday. Mr. Denniston is 95 years old, and with other good citizens went to his election poll and marked and voted his own ballot. He was born in Niagara Falls, New York on February 10th 1830. He moved to Dearborn, Michigan in 1834 with his parents, where they remained until 1852, when they moved to Ogle county, Ill. After residing there until 1881 he took up his residence at Jessup, Iowa and went on to Sac City, Iowa, leaving there for Kittson county in 1901. A year later or in 1902 he came to Todd county and has since made his home with his son in Germania town. Mr. Denniston has been a staunch republican all his life and cast his first vote for Franklin Pierce in 1852 and every republican president since among which were Filmore, Buchanan, Lincoln up to and including Coolidge. His faculties are normal and aside from being a little deaf, and he takes a deep interest in public affairs. He certainly is a remarkable man.

Death of Mrs. A. Denniston
Mrs. A. Denniston, mother of A. C. Denniston, died at her home in section 22, Germania Town early Saturday morning at the ripe age of 84 years. The deceased had made her home in Todd County for nearly 10 years and during that time made many friends in her immediate neighborhood through her kind and lovable disposition. After a funeral service at the house last Monday, the remains were taken to Aldrich and shipped from that station to Fox Home, Minn., the former home of the deceased. The family have the sympathy of a large circle of friends.
